V. Pet Misc. Info
Pets are, well, pets. Basically, in game, you can own your very own pet. In some MMORPGs, Pets usually don't serve much other function other than being entertaining; not true in Rappelz. In Rappelz, your pets have all sorts of abilities and can either aid you in battle by fighting or by casting buff spells or even by healing you. Pets serve a versatile function in the game. I'll now outline a basic list of pets.
Unities: A toggle that your pet gets that increases both your stats as well as your pet's stats.
Pantera - One of the three basic-basic pets. Panteras are agile, cat-like creatures specializing in evasion, speed, and fast strikes. Pantera cards are available through any merchant in the game and also available through drops. Note that you can only tame cats that are within the level range of 5-30, inclusive.
Pantera unity is Patk.
Tortus - One of the three basic-basic pets. Tortuses are slow, turtle-like creatures that excel in defense but are fairly decent in attack. Tortus cards are available through any merchant in the game and also available through drops. Note that you can only tame turtles that are within the level range of 5-30, inclusive.
Tortus Unity is Pdef.
Poultry - One of the three basic-basic pets. Poultry are fast, chicken-like creatures that specialize in stuns and speed. Poultry cards are available through any merchant in the game and also available through drops. Note that you can only tame birds that are within the level range of 5-30, inclusive.
Poultry Unity is Acc.
Water Pixie - Commonly known as an BP for Blue Pixie. One of the basic pets. BPs are magical creatures that specialize in healing magic, however, can be used as damage-dealing pets as well. BP cards are available through drop only and have a lower taming rate than the three basic-basic pets.
Water Pixie Unity is MP Regen.
Fire Pixie - Commonly known as an RP for Red Pixie. One of the basic pets. RPs are magical creatures tht specialize in magical damage, having an array of spells to cast and damage the opponent with. RPs cards are available only through drop and have a lower taming rate than the three basic-basic pets.
Fire Pixie Unity is Matk.
Yeti - One of the basic pets. Yetis, much like Tortuses, excel in defense and tanking. Yetis are durable creatures that can dish out damage efficiently. Yeti cards are available through drop only and have a lower taming rate than the three basic-basic pets.
Yeti Unity is Pdef.
Skeleton - Commonly known as a skell or a skelly. One of the basic pets. Skells excel in curse magic to cripple the opponent with debuff spells as well as evasive abilities. Skells, however, are known to be fragile and cannot take a beating. Skeleton cards are available through drop only and have a lower taming rate than the three basic-basic pets.
Skeleton Unity is Atk Speed.
Siren - One of the basic pets. Sirens are, much like skeletons, used for disabling your opponent through the use of its hypnotic songs. Siren cards are available through drop only and have a lower taming rate than the three basic-basic pets.
Siren Unity is Acc and Macc.
Orc - One of the basic pets. Orcs are savage beasts that can deal fierce damage. They are able to increase their powers and ability to deal damage through the use of a few learned buffs. Orc cards are available through drop only and have a lower taming rate than the three basic-basic pets.
Orc Unity is Patk and Pdef
Salamander - Commonly known as a Sally or a Sala. One of the uncommon pets. Salamanders are fire-based creatures that are focused on pure attack, whether it be Patk or Matk. Salamanders, like Fire Pixies, also have a few attack spells. Salamander cards are available through drop only and have a lower taming rate than the basic pets.
Salamander Unity is Patk and Matk.
Hawkman - Commonly known simply as a hawk. One of the uncommon pets. Hawkmen are extremely tall creatures that are very similar to orcs in that they are melee fighters. Hawkmen cards are available through drop only and have a lower taming rate than the basic pets.
Hawman Unity is Patk and Pdef.
Kentauros - Commonly known as a Kenta. One of the rare pets. Kentauroses are fierce centaur-like creatures that have great reputation as warriors. Kentauroses are extremely rare and no more than a handful exist on any given server. Kentauros cards are available through drop only and have one of the lowest taming rates in the game.
Kentauros Unity is Patk.
Angel - One of the rare pets. Angels are radiant, opal creatures that are often shrouded in mystery. Due to this, very little is known about Angels. However, they are very durable creatures that have extreme magical attack power. Angel cards are available through drop only and have one of the lowest taming rates in the game.
Angel Unity is Matk and Pdef.
Cerberus - One of the rarer pets. Cerberus is a three-headed dog from Hell. No one has one. (Probably someone does but... Haven't seen one yet.) I pretty much don't know anything about this one.
Cerberus Unity is Patk and Acc.
White Dragon - This pet is in its own class: Unique. A white dragon is... Well. A white dragon, Legendary in status and unrivaled in power. White Dragons, like angels, focus on Pdef and Matk, making them extremely powerful for mages.
White Dragon Unity is Pdef and Matk.
Well, how do you change a card into a card with a pet in it? Just having a card won't give you a pet, you still have to capture a creature inside of it. Here's how to tame a pet. In this example, I will be taming a pantera.
Step One: Osh. No, I'm just kidding. Your first step would be obtaining a pet card. Pet cards for the three basic-basic pets are available through any merchant in the game. Here's a picture.
It says empty. Well, duh. You can't put a pet into a card that's already occupied. Here's a tamed Pantera.

Anyway, after you buy the card, you head out to find a creature that you can tame. Some cards have restrictions on what level they are able to tame. In this case, we can only tame cats that are level 5-30. To tame cats, or any creature for that matter, you'll need the Creature Taming skill you learned in your basic skills.

Tada... As you can see, it takes 15 seconds to cast. Once you find a creature that fits the description, you attempt to tame it using this skill.
After you finish casting the skill, since it is an attack skill, the creature will then try and attack you. Now all you have to do is defeat the creature.

Now that is one dead cat. Anyway, if the taming was successful, a notice like the one above you show up on your screen. However, there is a chance that the taming won't succeed. It will tell you that it failed and will cost you that pet card.
As you can see above, I have Creature Taming level 1. There are higher levels of creature taming, going up to 10. Only pet classes are able to have this skill at level 10.
Now to use your pet, you must first summon your pet. And to summon your pet, your pet must be formed. What does it mean to form a pet? Well, that means you put it in your pet-formation window. Looks like this:
As you can see, currently my pixie is formed. If I wanted to form the Pantera that I just tamed, I'd unsummon my pixie and un-form it. What that means is that I basically double click the card in the formation window and my pixie is un-formed.

As you can see, unlike my pixie, this Pantera has no equipment. That's because I haven't made any for him yet. I'll talk about that shortly. Now, after you've finished forming your pet, it's time to summon it. All you do is use your pet summoning skill and cast it. Looks like this.
And there you have it. A summoned creature. Now I said earlier that you could give a pet equipments. Well, a pet does not have its own class of equipments. Instead, a pet uses our equipments. All you need to do, is take an equip that you like, seal it in a unit card, purchasable at any Merchant, and there you go. How do you seal it in a unit card? You use the combination window and put the unit card and equipment in there and there you have it; a sealed weapon.
Now say you wanted your equip back. How would you do it? Simple; use a Chalk of Restoration with the equip in the combination menu and you have your equipment back.
Now, equips specifically sealed for pet use have a yellow frame around it while an equip for normal use doesn't. You cannot give a pet a normal equip and you can't equip a pet equip. Here's what they look like.
Pet Equip
Non-pet Equip
To equip your pet with the equip, simply drag the item into the slots designated in the formation window. Note that you cannot equip a pet with more than two equips at once so choose wisely!
A pet has a variety of skills based on what the pet is. Remember this little toggle?

Pet Commands
To control the movement of your pets, here are some commands.
SHIFT+Clicking the place that you're interested in will move your pet there. Most of the times, your pet just follows wherever you go. Till you call your pet, your pet will be obedient and stay in that place.
ALT+Clicking monsters will make your creature attack that monster.
Pressing ESC three times in a row will summon your pet. Not in the notion that it will cast the Pet Summoning spell but rather, it will call your pet to follow you. If you had SHIFT+Clicked a place to place your monster, pressing ESC 3 times in a row will make it follow you.
Evolution
Pets can evolve and become three different types of pets, each with an improvement from before. Also, you evolve your pet to unlock new skill sets and increase its stats. Normally, you evolve pets at level 50 if you're not overbreeding. If you are, pets evolve at level 60. Evolving your pet will change its appearance. Here is my Evo1 Tortus.

Here is a picture of my evo2 Tortus.
Overbreeding
Overbreeding a pet is similar to overbreeding a character. Basically, the pet gets extra stats. However, pets also gain extra JPs. Pets who are level 60 and evolved at level 50 have 60 JP if none of them are used. Pets who are level 60 and evolved at level 60 have 70 JP if none of them are used. The JP bonus is extremely useful in that you don't need to wait an extra 10 levels to get some skills. Additionally, pets get a blue number next to their name. Here is a fully OB'd orc compared to a non-OB Pantera.
As you can see, there are blue numbers next to the Orc and not next to the Pantera.
